Back in the Bay

Wow! What a month.

It did, in fact, rain on my way out to Phoenix on the 1st. It stormed rather and the traffic leaving the Bay was horrible. Made it down to LA in six hours - longer than usual - but I just took my time. Stayed over night with Aunt Violet which was nice. I got to spend some time with Mac. He is still the same, maybe a little heavier, a little more grey, but still the wild and crazy photog I remember.

Anyway, I need to start condensing this...made it to LA, stayed over night, left for Arizona the following morning. That drive was brutally long. Checked into the hotel. C&K arrived, the surgery went well...long, but well. Moved into the Chandler house the day after surgery. Stayed there until everyone was well enough to leave. I drove straight back, took me eighteen hours.

Whew! That's one helluva nutshell.

So, I got back at two thirty in the morning yesterday. While I was in Arizona, Jigaboo started to leak transmission fluid. I wasn't really comfortable taking to a mechanic there I just bought a funnel and a bottle of fluid and kept a vigilant eye out for the levels. Which is partly why my drive back took so long. I made a LOT of stops along the way. Including a two-hour nap at Violet's place.

I took Jigaboo into see Andy the next day early - not nearly enough sleep. Since Andy had changed my transmission gasket less than a year ago, he agreed to replace it at no charge. I waited for ninety minutes at Andy's and drove away happy. Tired, but happy.

I got happier when I got home and Emjay was there waiting for me. We spent the rest of the day together...mostly in bed. And mostly because I was so tired. Mostly.

The good news in her world is that she still has a job. Which is good. Her sister and her "confused" boyfriend are in one of their "off again" phases - which seems to always interfere with Emjay's schedule. You know, because Emjay needs to be there for her sister. Which is fine. Which is perfect. 'Nough said.

So, I'm back home. My little place seems even littler since staying at the Osbourne's house in Chandler Heights. What a beautiful home and right on the nineth hole of the community's golf course. Sweet! Although the closest we could get to actually golfing was riding their Mercedes golf cart around the community. It was a great home and my family owes the Osbourne family a great deal for their generosity and kindness.

Emjay is taking a nap. It's cool outside and I feel like taking a walk outdoors. I know, crazy. But while in Arizona, I didn't do any excercising. Well, I did at the hotel but that was only the first four days. I always meant to go walking in Chandler, but it just always seemed to be too warm/hot outside. Excuses, excuses.

I'm taking Emjay out to dinner later afterwards we're going to see the new James Bond flick. Then I want to show her again just how much I missed her.
